Hiya guys! I’m finally feeling a little better from my food mania this weekend, haha. But I am having to take it easy on the eating, which let me tell you is no freaking fun. Haha. I tend to munch while I swatch so it’s a total buzz kill. But not to worry because there is something this week here to cheer all of us up…. Polish Pick Up! Inspired by Video Games no less. Wallets prepare to get wrecked! For today I’m sharing swatches for Azoth by Supermoon Lacquer, which is the June contribution to the Polish Pickup Collaboration. Old schools will get a special kick out of this one as Mardi goes way back for her inspiration. Want to know what it is? Well let’s get to the swatches and find out!
Azoth by Supermoon Lacquer will be available for purchase through the Polish Pickup Shop Friday, June 1st at 11AM EST through June 4th. The full-size 12mL shade will retail for $12.50 each and there is no cap this month.
If you’re not familiar with the concept, the Polish Pickup offers a fun, interactive experience that allows you to submit theme ideas, vote for your favorite theme, and selectively purchase your favorite polishes every month. As I mentioned before, the theme that was voted for June is Video Games. This month Mardi found her inspiration from Capcom’s ‘Haunting Ground’. This super rare, survival horror game for the PS2 is one of her favorite video games of all time.
Supermoon Lacquer – Azoth
Azoth can be described as a pale blue holographic base with bronze-to-green and red-to-green color shifting aurora pigment, red/bronze/copper chameleon shimmer, red-to-gold and red-to-green color shifting shimmer, red sparks, bronze and red pearl flakies, and iridescent red-to-green color shifting microglitter. Isn’t this such a soft elegant beauty? I love the shimmer as it gives the otherwise simple shade a unique touch. The shimmer is on the subtle side in person though unless it’s under some sunlight. You know… that thing I hate to be around, haha. But I do love a gorgeous blue and this one here has already won a special place in my collection. It’s not often I find a light/pale blue that meshes well against my skin-tone, so when I do it’s a for sure winner for me. Needless to say, must-have alert.
The formula has a very opaque application although not quite a one coater. As I mentioned before, the shimmer is subtle against but would be more noticeable under direct sunlight. It has a well balanced consistency, not too thick or too thin. This beauty is so easy to work with and layers with perfect self leveling. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out after topcoat. Shown here in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
